1. Decorate The House

Growing up, we looked forward to Halloween primarily because of the fun of decorating our houses. Decorating the home is usually a fun activity for both children and adults. However, Halloween décor is more fun as you have to unleash your creativity and think outside the box.

Whatever you come up with, don’t forget to get spooky. Skulls, fake webs, ghosts, and orange lights are a must-have when decorating. You can watch a not too scary- movie with your kids a day before Halloween. Then, you can snack on some Halloween treats as you watch tons of family-friendly Halloween movies. 

Another great idea is to organize a spooky movie night in your home. Decorate up your backyard like a drive-in-style theater and invite your family members for a movie night. 

3. Go Trick or Treating

One of the most fantastic activities you can do with your kids is to go trick-or-treating. Trick-or-treat has been a family-friendly Halloween tradition for many decades. 

Once you have created or bought your Halloween costumes, whip them out and go trick-or-treating. You can use this opportunity to teach your kids the sharing and giving spirit. 

Another way to enjoy a safe and family-friendly trick-or-treating is to organize a scavenger hunt within the home. Do this by hiding candy, cookies, and chocolates all over the house, and get the kids to do some finding.

If you have yet to plan to go all out for trick-or-treat or a Halloween party, you can organize a small costume fashion show in your home. Playing dress-up in creative costumes will be a fun activity for your kids. They also get to pretend to be their favorite characters.

If you want to make this as fun as possible, design the costumes yourself. You can also get the kids to look for materials like funny hats, boxes, cardboard, and white sheets around the house.
