Halloween party

A great Halloween party is one of the best things about Halloween. This is because they allow us to revert to being kids as we dress up as our favourite movie or book characters, celebrities, superheroes, knights and so on while enjoying a little extra candy with friends and family.

We couldn’t have Halloween parties in 2020 so Halloween parties are a must this year. To help you have a Spooktacular Halloween bash, we have come up with 5 tips for planning a great Halloween party for your friends and family.

You could even add a virtual element to your party by inviting far away friends and family to attend it virtually!

1. Have an additional party theme

Halloween is already a party theme, but you can take it one step further by adding an extra theme to your Halloween party.

You could go for the obvious theme: Halloween costumes or you go even more specific and have a skeleton theme party, a pumpkin theme party or a horror movie-themed party because horror movies are great for keeping everyone on the edge.

2. Dress the part!

You can choose to buy your Halloween costume. If you are buying it, look out for stores offering discounts. You could also create your costume from your own closets, household objects and props! DIY baby!

If you put on your creative hat, you will find that there are plenty of costume ideas right there in your closet, so you could be rocking the craziest Halloween outfit ever designed by you. In my opinion, dressing up is the most fun part of Halloween and Halloween parties.

3. DIY arts and crafts for decoration

Add spookiness to your Halloween party with spooky decor. Pinterest is full of amazing, DIY décor inspiration such as wool stuck around doorways and windows as cobwebs, cut out skeletons, scary carved pumpkins and scary bunting to name a few. Make use of lanterns and candles instead of light bulbs to make your place even scarier. Prepare Halloween themed drink holders and snacks so your guests can have a spooktacular experience!

4. Send invites

While you can invite your guests with a text message or a phone call, it’s so much more fun sending them an e-invite for free.

Instead of sending a regular boring e-card, why don’t you create a Firacard, add a spooky background and send it to your guests? Ask them to RSVP with a post, or drop you a message on your Halloween firacard too.

5. Provide entertainment!

Now that you have gotten your theme, decor, and food sorted, it’s time to think about how to make the party fun. There are lots of fun Halloween party games and activities to keep your guests entertained like:

  • Carve a pumpkin – everybody gets to have a go at carving a pumpkin – messy but fun
  • Musical ghosts – dance around a chair, you ghouls!
  • Horror movie trivia games
  • Monster hunt -get your guests hunting for scary things around your home

Now you have all the steps you need to plan a great Halloween party this year. We hope you have a fabulous Halloween and have all the fun you so deserve.
