Valentines gift

It does not matter whether you have been together for six months or two decades, coming up with great Valentine’s day ideas can be stressful and confusing.

Valentine’s Day is no doubt the most romantic day of the year, and we have come up with nine ways to make the day special for you and your wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend, parent, or even kids. So, whether you are married, single, engaged, or heading into your very first date with someone new, these date ideas can help you spice up the day;

1.           Have a Romantic Breakfast In Bed Date

Have you considered waking up on Valentine’s Day and surprising your partner with an unexpected breakfast in bed? A romantic breakfast-in-bed date is sure to keep you in your partner’s good books for the rest of the year; moreover, what is sweeter than a breakfast of heart-shaped treats in bed?

Fill up your tray with waffles, pancakes, red velvet cake, breakfast pizza, frosted doughnuts, cheesy egg toast, fresh juice, and just about anything else you can come up with.

2.           Get a Couple’s Massage

You could play masseuse and give each other a massage or if you have the time, plan a romantic day out to relax and focus on each other.

If you would rather play masseuse, you will need some fancy oils and candles. Another alternative is to fill your bathtub with essential oils, line it with candles, and take a couples bath.

If you would be spending the day at the spa, you can ask for a full day fee which would most likely include a massage, indoor pool, and access to hot tubs.

3.           Plan a Mini Getaway

You could plan a getaway on Valentine’s Day to a place with access to activities and amenities you would not otherwise have at home. An Airbnb is quite affordable and can be booked within short notice.

4.           Enjoy an at-home Game Night

Game nights are one of the most fun and simple date ideas to explore on Valentine’s Day. It may be a classic board game, football game, or something sexier.

Make sure to serve a variety of game-day snacks and wine, and enjoy the vibe. If you want to make it more fun, try a face-off against your partner during a round of beer pong, tabletop pool, foosball, or air hockey.

5.           Have a French-Themed Date Night

If taking your partner on a dreamy once-in-a-lifetime romantic trip to Paris is not within your budget for Valentine this year, you can pretend to be visiting the City of Love with a French-themed date night. Start the evening with a glass of French wine (like Pinot Noir). Enjoy some French onion soup, and a freshly-baked baguette. Then, you can watch a France set movie like Amélie or An American in Paris, and enjoy some French snacks for dessert. Bon Appétit!

6.           Watch a Romantic Movie

Have you thought of the idea of being in your PJs, cuddled up with your partner on the couch while seeing a valentine themed movie? Nothing beats such a moment. Make sure to have a bottle of wine ready with some cheesy snacks and popcorn.

You can make the room a bit cozier by lighting a mood-setting candle while you watch the movie in the comfort of your home.

You may also want to go the extra mile to make this moment special by decorating your space with string lights, a blanket fort, a paper heart wreath, or a love letter banner.

7.           Create a book of Memories together

Valentine’s week is a great time to go down memory lane and relive all the good times you have had together. It would definitely inspire and motivate you to share more good times together.

Simply create a firacard on the firacard website, give it a sexy title that will have both of you giggling and then go ahead and fill it pictures and videos of all the special moments you have enjoyed together.

Don’t forget to add a message or two, a little love letter saying how much your partner means to you.

8.           Make Valentine’s day Dinner Together

If you prefer to stay home, consider fun and interactive cooking experience instead of ordering takeout. Write up your menu and get all the ingredients ready the day before.

Or you could try a cook-off game where each of you prepares a separate dish and use a scorecard to determine which meal is yummiest.

9.           Volunteer Together on Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is that day of the year when we get to celebrate love with the people around us. This love is about kindness, compassion, and giving back.

You can give back to your community on Valentine’s Day, and it is even better when you do this with your partner. It could be at a homeless shelter or an animal shelter.

You both could decide to sign up as foster parents to a pet who needs a loving home. You could volunteer to support those going through a crisis or visit nearby hospices and hospitals to donate cards and your token of love.

10.        Go All Out and Treat Yourself To a Fancy Valentine’s day Dinner

If you want to wow your loved one on Valentine’s Day, go ahead and make that reservation at a fancy restaurant.

We hope you found these ideas useful as you plan your Valentine’s Day date.

With all our love,
